4G Technology

4G refers to the fourth generation of cellular wireless standards. It is a successor to 3G and 2G families of standards. The nomenclature of the generations generally refers to a change in the fundamental nature of the service, non-backwards compatible transmission technology and new frequency bands. The first was the move from 1981 analog (1G) to digital (2G) transmission in 1992. This was followed, in 2002, by 3G multi-media support, spread spectrum transmission and at least 200 kbit/s, soon expected to be followed by 4G, which refers to all-IP packet-switched networks, mobile ultra-broadband (gigabit speed) access and multi-carrier transmission

Technology makes new life in this world. Communication systems are the major part in our technology. 3G communication systems are still facing many problems in communication network. 4G technology “Fourth Generation communication systems” are the new latest technology which deals with networking and communication systems. Mean while these 4G technology giving solutions for problems of 3G systems.

The standard applications of 4G communication systems to expand a wide range of new latest services like wireless communications. Depending upon data rates it introduces different types of wireless broadband communications systems.

“MAGIC” is the word which gives u proper definition of 4G communication systems. MAGIC – “Mobilemultimedia, anytime anyplace, Global mobility support, integrated wireless solution, and customized service”.One of the main parts of 4G Communications systems are “cellular broadband wireless access systems” showing much interest to developing the mobile communication technology.

New technologies always replace the old one technology. Like the way in future 4G communication systems occupies new place in wireless communication systems by replacing 3G systems. By using 4G systems we can access huge amount of data from anywhere at any time to wide range of information and services.

The main functions of 4G systems are to handle huge amount of data, pictures, etc. the main future vision of 4G systems are to maintain and develop the different types of networks using IP -internet protocol as single protocol. Because of this service we can access every technical application.

Every time Latest technologies will focus on business expectations. 4G systems and its applications make growth in the consumer and business development. Survey of Japan local papers says that few top countries are Japan, china, and South Korea are that they decided to work on developing new technologies such as 4G mobiles. Few days back one meeting was happened in Seoul in March with officials from the above countries, they decided to work and share information on developing 4G mobile phones.

4G mobile phone technology supports IPv6 – “Internet Protocol version 6 and provides faster communication speeds “100 mbps “, capacity and diverse usage formats. These formats would support for other public networks such as optical fiber and wireless local area networks.

4G is now currently an ideal. Still, some technology companies they are incorporating latest technical advances into cellular technology. They use to calling “3.5G” techno. Someday this 4G networks may replace all existing 2.5G and 3G technologies .

3G Technology

Mobile telephones, the 1st generation of which were introduced in the mid-1980's, have been constantly evolving since their inception. Today, over 2B mobile phones are in usage and around 80% of the world's population is within reach of a Mobile Phone Adoption in Developing Countries and mobile signals. Mobile phones have traditionally been used for voice communications, but today can serve as the platform for a variety of communication outputs -- including data and video.

International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT--2000), better known as 3G or 3rd Generation, is a generation of standards for mobile phones and mobile telecommunications services fulfilling specifications by the International Telecommunication Union. Application services include wide-area wireless voice telephone, mobile Internet access, video calls and mobile TV, all in a mobile environment. However, with the capability for high-speed wireless data transfer, 3G has enhanced or made possible a myriad of additional applications such as mobile video, secure mobile , location-based services, and audio on demand. For example, using 2.5G (or a slightly better version of second-generation wireless) a three-minute song takes between six and nine minutes to download. Using 3G, it can download in 11 to 90 seconds.
There are currently almost 100 million 3G wireless subscribers worldwide. The US, with over 200 million mobile subscribers, crossed the 10% mark for 3G penetration for the first time in 2006, while Japan stayed in the lead with over 50% of its subscribers using 3G phones. As 3G adoption accelerates, 3G carriers, handset manufacturing, infrastructure equipment makers and 3G application providers stand to gain. Wireless Internet Service Providers(WISP's), carriers without the wherewithal or financial resources to upgrade their networks, and companies that provide services which are standard under 3G (i.e email access), will be in a position to lose.

While the 3G market may be definitely gaining traction, the industry is rapidly approaching a crossroads, where the needs of different market segments can vary substantially, and the potential rewards (and losses) for the different technology vendors and mobile communications operators could be substantial.3G or the third-generation wireless refers to near future developments in personal & business wireless technology, especially relating to mobile communications. 3G or The Third Generation will usher in many benefits as roaming capability, broad bandwidth and high speed communication.
